Set in a Georgian, Grade 2 listed building; The Waffle House is the perfect location for almost every occasion. We are well known for our friendly, relaxed atmosphere and welcome families or more intimate diners at any time of the day. We also offer additional seating in our upstairs restaurant for busier periods, or for a special booking, and with seating capacity for forty people, this makes an ideal setting for large parties.
The Waffle House was established in 1978 and since then we have continued to provide our customers with wholesome, free range & organic produce that they keep coming back for. What makes The Waffle House so unique is our individual approach to the food and dining out.
We pride ourselves on our ability to treat each order individually. Using fresh and local products, our light and crispy waffles offer the perfect base for one of a selection of toppings, either savoury or sweet. Why not check our specials board which changes daily?
Of course, it is not just the waffles we offer. We also provide a selection of the best organic beers and ethically sourced wines, not to mention our famous fresh fruit milkshakes, all complimented by our extensive range of fair trade coffee.
Because all of our waffles are freshly made to order, if you wish to experiment with the menu, then why not just ask one of our waiting staff? If it is not possible we will tell you, but nine times out of ten, additions to your meal will be no problem.
We believe that food should be fresh, wholesome and nourishing, as well as delicious. Great care is taken in the preparation of our food and this includes the use of wholefoods and high quality ingredients in our recipes.
We avoid any foods containing preservatives and colourings. Both the whole wheat and white flour used in the waffles are organically grown and stoneground. We use high quality vegetable oils and virgin olive oil.
For many years we have used organically farmed meats, fresh free-range eggs and chickens, and hams from naturally reared pigs. We also try to use organically grown vegetables and salad produce when available to make our food just that little bit more special.
Equal emphasis is put on vegetarian food in our menu. Vegetarian dishes are carefully kept separate from meat dish preparations. We use vegetarian rennet cheese. There is at least one daily vegetarian special in addition to those on the menu.
